As with any formal school, the Rocky Mountain Swordplay Guild has enacted the following series of guidlines for students and members. Effective 1MAY2009, all classes will adhere to the following:
Training Uniform:
Novice - (within 90 days)
RMSG T-shirt (available via the RMSG store)
Black or blue sweats/tights/track pants
Non-marking, smooth soled shoes (preferably low boots or knee boots from Revival Clothing)
--prior to Scholars test [10-18months]
RMSG Jacket or Gambeson (either one made to minimum specifications, or an off-the-shelf model from Revival Clothing) in Black or Blue
Contrasting colour pants (black Gambeson = Blue pants, and vice versa; tights from UnderArmour are preferred)
Black Low boots or knee boots in medieval style (Boots from Revival Clothing or suitable alternate)
Training Equipment:
Novice - (within 6 months)
Leather gloves (padded gloves such as the Light Sparring Gloves or alternates suggested by the Dean or Instructor)
3-Weapon Fencing mask (preferably a 'Tindill TopHat')
Cup
Mouth Guard
Elbow and Knee pads
---prior to Scholars test [10-18 months]
Steel Longsword (discuss with Dean or Instructor on available options)
Scholar - (within 90 days after Scholars test)
Tindill Tophat (must be ordered at least)
Heavy Gauntlets (discuss with Dean or Instructor)
Optional - Elbow and Knee Cops
---prior to Free Scholars test [3 years after Scholar minimum]
significant advancement towards Armoured 'Kit'
own all personal sparring equipment (longsword, rondel, arming sword, helmet, gauntlets, etc)
